Harry Potter Sound Extract

Evaluation

For the credit sequence I used deep and mysterious music, when the Harry Potter logo appeared I used deep sounding drums to enhance the fact that the 3D title was an actual object and was coming towards the viewer. When the light appeared I used an enhancing choir style sound, for the transition from light to dark to give the feeling of a clean environment and that the darkness has been cleansed. 7/10

For the playground sequence I tried to create realism with environmental sounds, such as the sound of the cars on the motorway, the sound of birds in surrounding fields etc. This created a sense of peace, which was then contrasted when the sky darkened. As the two characters are running I used selective drums and beats in order to create a sense of urgency throughout the scene. 6/10

When the dementors appeared the drum and beats had quietened and a sudden use of electric music started, in order to give a sense of shock to the audience. I felt that the sound suited the style of a "fight scene" and effectively changed the moos from momentary peace. 7/10

I am pleased with most of the work, but I felt that improvements can be made to give a scenes a better feel. I
believe that if I finished the task it would be better overall. 6/10
